Festival Fun Day – Darwin City Council Support

The ArtStories team were pleased to receive a grant of $2000 from the Darwin City Council Community Grants Program. This grant was used to employ local artists for the ArtStories Festival Fun day in August 2008. Edel Musco and Catherine Threlfall are pictured receiving the cheque from Acting Lord Mayor of Darwin Dorothy Fox in June 2007.

CDU research initiative ArtStories have received a grant of $12 000 from the Teaching, Learning and Standards Division of the Northern Territory Department of Education, Employment and Training. This grant is specifically to support the development of an ArtStories resource for schools.
 

ArtStories Team Member Catherine Threlfall Keynote Speaker at Australian Music Therapy Association National Conference

ArtStories practitioner-researcher Catherine Threlfall has been invited to be the Keynote speaker at the Australian Music Therapy Association National Conference in Melbourne in October 2007. Catherine will speak on the conference theme of “Changing the rhythm, Keeping the Beat”, with a focus on community engagement and capacity building through shared artsmaking.

In addition ArtStories project leader Anja Tait is the Chair of the Scientific Committee for the conference. The ArtStories team will also present a paper outlining the ArtStories research in schools in the Top End.
